The Ritual

Energised on Purnima — every piece, every month.

Every DivineTatva order is energised by our Vedic astrologers on Purnima (full moon) in our Jaipur atelier. The ritual takes 12–18 minutes per piece: Panchamrit abhishek, planet mantra recitation, dhoop and ghee lamp, and a named sankalpa for the wearer. A blessing card with the ritual date ships with every order.

Step by Step

The six-step Purnima ritual.

  1. 01
    Sattvic preparation

Our astrologers follow a sattvic diet and abstain from non-vegetarian food and alcohol for three days before Purnima. The atelier is cleaned with gangajal and cow dung wash the morning of the ritual.

  2. 02
    Yantra base setup

A copper plate engraved with the planet-specific yantra is placed at the altar. Gemstones or rudraksha for that Purnima batch are arranged by planetary association — ruby and garnet together, pearls separately, blue sapphire with cat's eye.

  3. 03
    Panchamrit abhishek

Each piece is bathed sequentially in milk, curd, honey, clarified butter (ghee) and water, then dried with a cotton cloth. Panchamrit is the classical purification rite for sacred objects.

  4. 04
    Mantra recitation

Planet mantras are recited 108 times minimum per stone type — for example, 'Om Shukraya Namah' for diamond and white topaz, 'Om Budhaya Namah' for emerald. High-value pieces receive 1,008 repetitions.

  5. 05
    Dhoop and deep

Natural resin incense (loban, guggul) is burned and a ghee lamp is waved around the pieces three times clockwise. No synthetic fragrances are used — they interfere with the stone's energy field in classical Jyotish belief.

  6. 06
    Sankalpa and sealing

The astrologer speaks the recipient's name and a sankalpa (intention) over the piece. It is then wrapped in red or yellow unstitched cloth and sealed. The blessing card is handwritten and placed in the sealed pouch.

The mantra
ॐ रत्नानां पतये नमः
Om Ratnanam Pataye Namah — Salutation to the lord of gemstones.
Recited over every stone at the opening of each Purnima ritual.
Questions

Frequently asked

What exactly happens during energisation?

The piece is placed on a copper plate with a yantra base. Our Vedic astrologer performs a 12–18 minute ritual comprising: (1) Panchamrit abhishek — bathing the stone with milk, curd, honey, ghee and water in sequence; (2) Mantra recitation — planet-specific Vedic mantras (108 repetitions minimum for most stones); (3) Dhoop and deep — incense from natural resins and ghee lamp; (4) Sankalpa — intention-setting for the recipient. The piece is then wrapped in red or yellow cloth and sealed until dispatch.

Why Purnima specifically?

Purnima (full moon) is considered the peak of lunar energy in Jyotish — the moon controls the mind, and most gemstones associated with the nine planets are worn to balance planetary influences. Performing rituals under the full moon is a Vedic prescription found in texts including the Ratna Pariksha and multiple Upapuranas. Our astrologers also hold that the Purnima window extends from sunrise to sunset — we energise from late afternoon through the full moon's rise.

Will I miss Purnima if I order late?

We energise on every Purnima — there are twelve to thirteen per year. If your order arrives between two Purnimas, it is held and energised on the next one (typically 0–28 days from order). Estimated energisation date is shown at checkout and updated in your order timeline. If you need the piece sooner without the ritual, contact care@divinetatva.com — we can dispatch ahead of Purnima and energise a replacement piece to send as a blessing card.

Is this practice from a specific tradition or lineage?

Our astrologers follow the Parashari school of Jyotish, which is the most widely taught classical system. The energisation protocols draw from the Ratna Pariksha (gemstone examination texts) and the Mani-Mala treatises. We do not mix traditions — no tantra-specific rituals, no practices from regional folk traditions. The ritual is classical Sanatana Dharma procedure.

What if I'm from a different faith?

The energisation is an optional service and the spiritual intent is universal — it sets an intention for the stone to serve the wearer well. You may choose to receive the piece un-energised on request (contact us before ordering). Several of our customers are Sikh, Muslim and Christian; they typically accept the energisation as a cultural accompaniment to the stone rather than a religious practice.

Do you send proof of energisation?

Yes — a hand-stamped blessing card (with the Purnima date, astrologer's initials and the mantra recited) ships inside every energised order. For orders above ₹5,000, we also send a short WhatsApp video clip of the ritual for that Purnima batch — audio included.
