Why wear it
  • Moksha Energy and Liberation — Regular worship of a Parad Shivling generates powerful Moksha Shakti — the energy of liberation. The Siva Purana declares that devotees who perform Abhishek on Parad attain freedom from the cycle of birth and death, accelerating their journey toward spiritual liberation (Moksha).
  • Removal of Negative Energy and Doshas — Parad mercury carries an intense purifying vibration that dissolves negative energies, evil eye (Nazar Dosha), Vastu defects, and planetary afflictions (Graha Dosha) within the home. Placing a Parad Shivling in the home neutralises harmful energies and creates a protective shield of Shiva's grace.
  • Health, Vitality, and Longevity — Tantric texts including the Rasa Ratnakar attribute potent healing properties to Ashtasamskar-purified Parad. Worship is said to strengthen the aura, improve physical vitality, protect against chronic illness, and invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva as Vaidyanatha — the supreme healer.
  • Spiritual Elevation and Deepened Meditation — The high-frequency energy field of a Parad Shivling creates an ideal environment for meditation, pranayama, and mantra japa. Devotees report significantly deeper states of meditation, heightened intuition, and an accelerated awakening of the Ajna (third eye) and Sahasrara (crown) chakras.
  • Fulfilment of Sincere Wishes — The Parad Shivling is regarded as a Kalpavriksha — the divine wish-fulfilling tree. Devout and consistent worship with full faith (Shraddha) is believed to remove obstacles from career, marriage, health, and finances, granting the heartfelt desires of the worshipper through Shiva's infinite compassion.
The Detail

About this piece

Parad Shivling is the supreme form of Lord Shiva in Tantric and Vedic tradition, crafted from Parad — solidified mercury — through the ancient eight-step Ashtasamskar purification process. The Ashtasamskar ritual involves successive stages of Swedana (steam purification), Mardana (grinding), Murchchana (controlled oxidation), Utthapana (revival), Patana (distillation), Rodhana (sealing), Niyamana (regulation), and Deepana (activation), rendering the mercury completely non-toxic, sacred, and permanently solid. According to the Siva Purana, a single Abhishek (ritual bath) performed on a Parad Shivling is equivalent in merit to crores of Abhisheks on ordinary stone Shivlings. Parad is regarded as the physical manifestation of Shiva's divine essence — his Bindu or seed energy — and a Parad Shivling thus embodies the living presence of Mahadeva. This 3-inch Shivling is mounted on a traditional Panchadhatu (five-metal alloy of gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron) base representing the Yoni of Shakti, symbolising the union of Shiva and Shakti and the source of all creation. Each piece is hand-crafted by hereditary Parad artisans in Jaipur and energised (Prana Pratishtha) with Vedic Shiva mantras before dispatch.

How to wear

Place the Parad Shivling on its Panchadhatu base at the centre of your home altar or puja room, ideally facing north or east. Perform daily Abhishek by pouring water, raw milk, honey, curd, ghee, and sugarcane juice (Panchamrit) over the Shivling one by one, reciting Om Namah Shivaya or the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra continuously. After Abhishek, wipe gently with a clean soft cloth and offer fresh Bilva (Bel Patra) leaves, white flowers, sandalwood paste (Chandan), and an unbroken rice offering (Akshata). Light a ghee diya and dhoop (preferably Loban or Guggul) during the puja. For maximum benefit, perform Rudrabhishek on every Monday, Maha Shivaratri, and Pradosh (13th lunar day). Avoid touching the Shivling with leather or during periods of ritual impurity. Do not use soap or chemical cleaners; plain water suffices for daily cleaning.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is a Parad Shivling safe to touch and worship at home?

Yes, absolutely. A genuine Ashtasamskar Parad Shivling is completely safe to handle and worship. The eight-stage purification process chemically and energetically transforms raw mercury into a permanently solid, non-volatile, non-toxic form. It does not leach mercury under normal conditions of worship. Our Shivlings are tested for stability and are safe for daily Abhishek and handling.

What exactly is the Ashtasamskar process?

Ashtasamskar is an ancient eight-step Tantric purification ritual described in classical Rasa Shastra (alchemical) texts such as the Rasa Ratnakar and Rasendra Chintamani. The eight stages — Swedana, Mardana, Murchchana, Utthapana, Patana, Rodhana, Niyamana, and Deepana — progressively purify, detoxify, and solidify mercury using specific herbs, minerals, and controlled heat processes. Only mercury that has completed all eight stages is considered fit for use in sacred idols and Rasayana preparations.

How should I perform Abhishek on this Shivling?

For daily worship, pour water, milk, or Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar) gently over the Shivling while chanting Om Namah Shivaya or the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra. For a complete Rudrabhishek on Mondays, follow the sequence: water, Panchamrit, rose water, sandalwood water. After each liquid offering wipe the Shivling softly with a clean cotton cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing or chemical detergents.

Can women worship the Parad Shivling?

Yes. Women may worship the Parad Shivling freely on all days. Many traditional guidelines suggest refraining from direct touching during menstruation as a matter of personal ritual purity, which is a personal choice rather than a scriptural prohibition specific to Parad. Devotion and sincerity are the most important prerequisites for worship, regardless of gender.

Is this Shivling energised, and what does energisation (Prana Pratishtha) involve?

Yes, every Parad Shivling from DivineTatva is energised (Prana Pratishtha) by learned Vedic priests in Jaipur before dispatch. The energisation ceremony involves Ganapati Puja, Kalash Sthapana, recitation of Shiva Panchakshara and Rudrabhishek mantras (1,008 repetitions), and concludes with Aarti and Visarjan. This process invites the living presence of Lord Shiva into the idol and activates its spiritual potency for the devotee.
