Silver Rakhi Online
Hallmarked 925 silver, hand-finished in our atelier — Om, Ganesha, Swastik and evil-eye motifs.
A silver rakhi is a rakhi where the central motif is cast or hand-finished in sterling silver — typically 925 fineness, hallmarked by the Bureau of Indian Standards — rather than the more common kalava, zari, or rudraksha bead. Silver rakhi sits at the intersection of the daily-wear bracelet and the festival thread: the motif (Om, Ganesha, Swastik, evil-eye, Hanuman) can be detached from the cotton band and worn as a pendant or kept on the puja shelf after Raksha Bandhan. DivineTatva's silver rakhi is made in our C-Scheme atelier from Jaipur-refined silver, each piece carrying the BIS hallmark and ships with a purity certificate.
Silver rakhi, made in Jaipur.
Why hallmark and weight matter.
Most 'silver' rakhi sold online is silver-plated brass — the plating wears off in 6-12 months and the base turns green. Authentic 925 silver costs ~₹85/g at refinery rates; a silver rakhi motif weighs 2-4g, putting the silver-content alone at ₹170-340 before craftsmanship. If a 'silver' rakhi is selling for ₹199, it's plated. Our pieces carry the BIS 925 hallmark on the motif itself (visible under magnification) and ship with a purity certificate from the Jaipur silver assayer. The piece you wear next year still looks like silver because it is silver.
About online.
Is the silver in your rakhi 925 hallmarked?
Yes — every silver rakhi motif we make is cast from 925 sterling silver (92.5% silver, 7.5% copper alloy), hallmarked by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The hallmark is stamped on the motif itself and is visible under 5x magnification. Each rakhi ships with a purity certificate from the Jaipur silver assayer.
Will the silver tarnish over time?
925 silver does naturally oxidise (darkens) over months of exposure to air, moisture and skin oils — this is silver doing what silver does, not a defect. A 10-second polish with a silver-cleaning cloth (included with every order) restores the shine. Avoid wearing in chlorinated water (swimming pools) and store in the airtight pouch included with the box when not in use.
Can the silver motif be worn as a pendant after Raksha Bandhan?
Yes — that's the design intent. The silver motif is attached to the cotton band with a single loop that you can carefully unhook (or cut) without damaging the motif. The motif then attaches to a regular chain (sold separately or in our pendant collection) and becomes a year-round wearable. Many of our customers do this.
How much does the silver motif weigh?
Standard motifs (Om, Swastik, evil-eye): 2-3g. Larger motifs (Ganesha, Hanuman): 3-4g. Premium 3-D motifs: 4-6g. At ₹85/g refinery silver rate, the silver content alone is ₹170-510 — the rest of the price is craftsmanship, hallmarking, packaging and our ritual blessing.
Is silver rakhi suitable for daily wear?
Yes — 925 silver is among the most skin-friendly metals (only nickel-free copper alloys are added) and is fine for daily contact. People with extremely sensitive skin (allergic to copper, rare) may develop a slight green tinge; in that case, choose our pure-silver (.999) premium option, which omits the copper alloy at the cost of slightly softer metal.
Can I personalise the silver rakhi with a name or date?
Yes — for orders above ₹999 we offer free engraving on the back of the motif (up to 18 characters). Name, date, initials, or a short Sanskrit shloka (in Devanagari). Mention the engraving text in checkout notes; we send a proof image on WhatsApp before despatch.
