The Detail

About this piece

The 10mm 108-bead Silver-Capped Karungali Mala is DivineTatva's premium tier in authentic Diospyros ebenum (Indian Ebony) — the Tamil sacred black wood sourced from 60–80-year-old heartwood logs in Salem and Madurai. Each bead is turned to 10mm, hand-polished, GTL Jaipur density-verified at specific gravity ~1.2 (sinks in water — the definitive authentication test for ebenum), and individually capped at the drill-hole with 925-hallmarked silver collars. Silver is the metal of Shani and Chandra: pairing it with karungali amplifies the cooling, grounding pranic signature of the wood. Ruled by Lord Shani and revered in Hanuman bhakti, this mala is the classical Tamil remedy for Sade Sati, Shani Dhaiya, and drishti dosha. Saturday Purnima energised with "Om Sham Shanaicharaya Namaha".

How to wear

Energise on a Saturday — preferably Shani Pradosh or Saturday Purnima — by reciting "Om Sham Shanaicharaya Namaha" 108 times. Wear around the neck so the sumeru rests on the heart centre. Silver caps must not contact perfume, sulphur springs or chlorinated pools (tarnishes silver). Wipe with the included silver-polish cloth monthly.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why are silver caps added?

Silver is Shani's metal in Vedic metallurgy and Chandra's metal in Jyotish — capping karungali at every drill-hole both protects the bead from thread-wear over decades and amplifies the cooling, grounding signature.

How do I test the wood (with caps on)?

Drop the full mala in a wide bowl of water. The combined density of ebenum + silver caps will sink quickly. For a single-bead test on request, we can supply one uncapped karungali bead with your order.

Will the silver tarnish?

925 silver oxidises slowly with skin contact — this is natural and reversible. Polish monthly with the included cloth, or use a mild silver dip every 6 months. Avoid sulphur and chlorine.

Can women wear it during menstruation?

Set aside during the cycle and resume on day 5 after a head-bath. This is rest etiquette, not impurity.

Suitable for gifting?

Yes — this is our most popular gifting tier. Includes a Saturday energisation certificate and GTL Jaipur density report. ---
