The Detail

About this piece

A 5 mukhi rudraksha bracelet is a band of five-faced rudraksha beads strung on an adjustable red thread, with an evil eye bead added as the motif. Five-faced rudraksha is traditionally worn for calm, focus and protection, and the evil eye bead is a long-held symbol of warding off negative glances.

How to wear

Wear it on the right wrist, as is customary, and Monday (Somvar), the day of Lord Shiva, is a common day to begin. Rudraksha can be worn by anyone and is best removed before sleep, bathing or swimming. Keep it away from perfume and harsh chemicals, and wipe it dry after use. Cleanse it with a few minutes of incense smoke or a night on a selenite plate.

Questions

Frequently asked

Which hand should I wear this bracelet on?

Traditionally it is worn on the right wrist. Many people choose the left for comfort, so wear it on whichever side feels right to you.

How can I tell real rudraksha from an imitation?

Natural rudraksha has irregular ridges and a slightly uneven surface, while imitations often look too smooth or too uniform. Ask us on WhatsApp for more close-up photos before you order.

Who can wear this bracelet?

It is unisex, so anyone who likes the design can wear it. Wearing it for calm and protection is a personal belief, not a rule.

Does it get wet, and how should I care for it?

Remove it before bathing, swimming or applying perfume. Wipe it dry after use and store it in a soft pouch away from other jewellery.

Check it yourself

How to verify this is genuine

A rudraksha's mukhi count is not a surface pattern — it is the number of internal seed chambers. That fact is the entire basis of authentication, and it is why we X-ray.

  1. 01
    Reject carved symbols

Rudraksha never grows an Om, trishul, snake or lingam. Any bead bearing a symbol has been carved. This single rule eliminates most fakes in the Indian market.

  2. 02
    X-ray chamber count

The definitive test: chambers must equal mukhis. A carved 3-mukhi sold as 1-mukhi shows three chambers. Every DivineTatva rudraksha ships with its X-ray plate.

  3. 03
    Cleft inspection

Under a 10× loupe, a natural mukhi line is an irregular cleft running crown to base with grain flowing around it. A carved line is uniform in depth, often V-shaped from a rotary tool, and cuts across the grain.

  4. 04
    Water test — limited

The popular sink test only rules out light plastic. Carved genuine rudraksha and bhadraksh both sink. Do not rely on it alone.

Care note — Rudraksha is a seed and dries out. Oil it lightly with coconut or mustard oil once a month to prevent cracking, and remove before bathing.
