The 27-bead Karungali Hand Mala is the quarter-mala form (108 ÷ 4 = 27) of authentic Diospyros ebenum — Tamil "karungali", the sacred jet-black heartwood ruled by Lord Shani. Each 8mm bead is sourced from licensed Tamil Nadu cooperative artisans (Salem, Madurai), turned from 60–80-year-old heartwood logs, and GTL Jaipur density-verified at specific gravity ~1.2 (genuine ebenum sinks in plain water — the field authentication test). Four hand-circuits = one 108-mala count, making this the preferred form for quick office japa, walking meditation, and pocket-carry sadhana. Saturday Purnima energised with "Om Sham Shanaicharaya Namaha". Knotted on cotton thread with a single tassel for grip during recitation.
